Draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers "Amendments to The implementation of the mandatory technical control of tractors, self-propelled chassis, self-propelled agricultural, road-building and melioration machinery, agricultural machinery, other mechanisms", published on the website of State Agricultural Inspection, is fraught with corruption and monopoly on the market and increasing rates for the technical control of the machines. This was emphasized by the Association "Ukrainian Agribusiness Club" in letters directed to the state agencies.

Today, 17 January 2014, in Berlin (Germany) during the international exhibition-fair "Green Week", the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection of Germany held a "Global Forum for Food and Agriculture". VAT grain exporting farmers

VAT refunding when grain exporting will increase the income of farmers on the 9.3 billion

Adoption of the Draft Law No. 3863 "On amendments to the Tax Codex of Ukraine on value added tax from some operations with grain and technical crops" of 11.01.2014 will be detrimental to agricultural producers because of the low purchasing prices, and once again would seriously damage investment attractiveness of Ukraine, given the inconsistency of the decision-making in the State.

Not refunding of VAT to grain exporters and lack of state support threatens the dwindling agricultural production

Decreasing global and domestic prices and related to it multimillion losses, significant logistical expenses and expensive resource providing with almost absent State support creates catastrophically adverse conditions for agribusiness in Ukraine. At the same time, the draft budget for 2014 does not again includes almost any assistance from the State. This was stressed today during the press conference by the representatives of agricultural associations: the Association "Ukrainian Agribusiness Club", Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation, the Union of Poultry Producers of Ukraine, and the Association of Farmers and Private Landowners of Ukraine.

Because of the increasing prices for fertilizers in Ukraine agricultural associations ask the leaders of the State to cancel the special duty on mineral fertilizers. Co-chairs of the All- Ukrainian Agrarian Forum appealed to the Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov with such a request on behalf of the tens of thousands of business entities of agroindustrial complex of Ukraine.

In the first quarter of 2013/2014 marketing year export of sunflower seeds decreased by 80%

In September-November 2013/14 MY export of sunflower seeds from Ukraine decreased by 80,1% or 47.1 thousand tons compare to the same period in 2012/13 MY and totaled just 11.7 thousand tons. Against the background of the predicted record gross harvest of the crop in 10-10.6 million tons, the pace of export turned out to be quite slow. Main contractors on export of sunflower are: Turkey, Russian Federation and the European Union.

Share of Belarusian dairy products up to 20% in imports

In January-August, in terms of milk, over 289,000 tons of dairy products were imported to Ukraine, which is 35% up against the previous year indexes. Considerable growth of the share of Belarusian commodities was also observed. By results of eight months, those goods made up 8% in the import structure, this year their share grew to 20%.

Ukraine increased exports of poultry by 2.5 times

Ukraine increased exports of poultry by 2.5 timesA 16,3% rise in Ukrainian poultry production in the first four months in 2013 has driven a significant increase in export volumes for April, according to the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club. In April Ukraine exported 12, 727 tons (t) of poultry meat, which is 21% more than during the previous month and 2,5 times higher than in April last year.

Ukrainian beef cattle is under threat again

Reducing the demand for beef leads to further reduction of purchase prices for cattle. At the end of May the prices for bulls were 14,00-15,50 UAH/kg, which is on 1,00-1,50 UAH/kg less than the previous month prices and 5,50-6,00 UAH/kg less than at the same period of last year. Today, 23 of May 2013, the Association "Ukrainian Agribusiness Club", the agency «AgriEvent» and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) held the International Bioenergetic Forum "Using the potential of agricultural waste products as a source of renewable energy in Ukraine". The event brought together experts and representatives of bioenergetics to discuss the problems and prospects of bioenergy in Ukraine, voiced advantages and disadvantages of government regulation in this field in Ukraine and abroad, also make an acquaintance with the innovative technologies of renewable energy from agricultural waste products on example of enterprises, that have already achieved success in this field in Ukraine.

The abolition of mandatory certification of grain quality and service of granary would reduce the number of permits that farmers need to get for conducting their activities. Capitalization of Ukrainian agricompanies continues decline

As of mid-April 2013 capitalization of Ukrainian agri-food companies amounted to about 5.55 billion USD, which is 12% less than in 2012. This was stated by the Association "Ukrainian Agribusiness Club" (UCAB). Experts noted a negative downward trend in stock value of domestic agricultural companies.

Ukrainian milk producers on the verge of survival

Economic results of agricultural companies in 2012 indicate the efficiency of milk production at the level of 2.3%. This suggests that the profitability of milk production declined significantly in comparison to 2011, when it amounted to 18.5%. This was reported by the Association "Ukrainian Agribusiness Club" (UCAB) with reference to the data, provided by the State Statistics Committee.
