Specialist in the field of agricultural policy (PhD at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin), international agricultural trade and agricultural trade policies. Has a broad experience in research and agribusiness consultancy in the EU. Since January 2016 works as a Team leader of the Project „Advising Ukraine on Agricultural Trade Issues - within the Framework of the EU-Ukraine Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement (DCFTA)”. Since September 2011 she works as a key expert on national and international standardization and harmonization at the German Dairy Association, which is acting as a German national committee of the International Dairy Federation (IDF). 
Dr. Taras Gagalyuk is a Research Associate at the Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Development in Transition Economies (IAMO) in Halle, Germany. His research focus is on the analyses of agricultural policy and governance of agri-food value chains in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Mr. Gagalyuk holds a PhD in Agricultural Economics from Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg. From 2010 to 2014, he was head of the AgriSurvey agency of the Association “Ukrainian Agribusiness Club” In 2013, he was a long-term expert in the German-Ukrainian Agricultural Policy Dialogue (APD), In 2014-2015, Dr. Gagalyuk was consultant to the World Bank and acted as a team leader of the component “Access to Agricultural Markets” of the World Bank’s “Enabling the Business of Agriculture” project in Washington, D.C., USA.

Expert knowledge of market economics, customer research and business consulting, especially in analyzing and forecasting Ag sector developments and Ag equipment demand across the EU, CIS and North Africa/Middle East countries. Operating experience in coordinating and managing international (agri) business and educational projects. MBA in Agriculture from the University of Applied Sciences Weihenstephan-Triesdorf (Germany) and PhD (Dr.rer.agr.)  from the Humboldt University of Berlin (Germany). Practical experience in teaching at Ag universities and doing scientific research in Ukraine and the EU.

Oleh Nivievskyi has above 7 years of extended international experience in empirical agricultural and food markets analysis, as well as economic policy analysis. He has extensive consultancy experience in domestic and international projects both for Ukrainian and international public and private clients. Dr. Nivyevskiy received his PhD at Georg-August University Goettingen. He obtained his Master’s Degree in economics at the National University «Kyiv-Mohyla Academy»/Kyiv School of Economics

Mrs. Karen Fisher is an agricultural advisor and holds a Master of Business Administration in “General Management” from the Berlin University for Professional Studies as well as a Master of Arts in North and Latin American Studies and Political Science from the Free University of Berlin. Mrs. Fisher was the Deputy General Director and Coordinator of International Relations of the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club (UCAB) for six years. At present she is co-owner and director of a consultancy, NIKA PP Consulting Ltd. Mrs. Fisher is a citizen of Germany.

ANASTASIYA  SHTALTOVNA  is  Visiting  scholar  at  Center  for International  Studies  (CÉRIUM),  University  of  Montreal  &  Associate Researcher  at  Center  for  Development  Research  (ZEF),  University  of Bonn,  Germany.  For the past 10 years she has been working in different capacities on various socio-political and economic aspects of development of former Soviet countries and, more recently, Africa. She holds a PhD in development studies from the University of Bonn. In her PhD thesis, she focused on the development of the agricultural service provision and rural transformation processes in the post-Soviet authoritarian Uzbekistan. Her work and interest lie in the fields of rural development, post-Soviet societies, agrarian change and rural transformation, organisational change, agricultural advisory services/extension, innovation in agriculture, bridging the gap between development research and development collaboration. For her studies and work, Ms. Shtaltovna has conducted an extensive fieldwork in Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Ukraine.

Dr. Oleksandr Perekhozhuk graduated from the economic department of the National Agricultural University of Ukraine in Kyiv. He studied agricultural economics at the Master Program in Sustainable Agriculture in Transition Countries at the Agricultural Department of the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (MLU), Germany. In 2007 he obtained his PhD from the MLU. The title of his PhD dissertation thesis was "Market structure and pricing on the Ukrainian market for raw milk". Since 2007 he has worked as a post-doctoral researcher in the Department Agricultural Markets at IAMO. His main research is focused on the field of industrial organization, international trade, applied econometrics, microeconomic analysis and new empirical industrial organization (NEIO).

Zoya Komirenko is an agricultural economist (cost of production, productivity, business risk management). Currently, she is a livestock economist with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Alberta (Canada). She holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Agricultural Finance from National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine, an MSc in Horticultural Economics from Leipzig University of Hanover (Germany), and a PhD degree in Agricultural Economics from University of Alberta (Canada). Her areas of research included economics of genomic tools for crop improvement, international trade, development economics, market analysis and consumer research. She taught economics related disciplines at the Universities in Ukraine and Canada. She serves on the board of the Alberta Agricultural Economics Association (AAEA).

Iryna Kulyk works at the Department of Agricultural Policy at Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Development in Transition Economies (IAMO) since October 2012. Her PhD research is focused on the analysis of grain export barriers in Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan, and is part of the project ‘Global Food Security and the Grain Markets in Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan’ (GERUKA).
Prior to joining IAMO, MS. Kulyk worked for the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club in Kyiv, Ukraine, where she analyzed agricultural commodities markets. Ms. Kulyk holds Master’s degrees in Management Studies from Wageningen University, Netherlands, and in Management of International Economic Activity from the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine. She is a member of European Association of Agricultural Economists (EAAE).

Mrs. Iuliia Protopop is a specialist in the field of agricultural finance and related policy analysis. She has an additional expertise in the area of firm-level agricultural exports, particularly of beef cattle (Black Angus) for genetic purposes. She is a member of International Food and Agribusiness Management Association (IFAMA) and American Association of Agricultural Economists (AAEA), and currently pursuing PhD in Agricultural Economics at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (USA).

Ms. Zharko is responsible for analysis of markets of animal products (meat and milk) and specializes in marketing and market research, European integration and analysis of price conjuncture of Ukrainian and international markets of livestock production. Master's Degree at University of Applied Sciences Weihenstephan (Trizdorf, Germany.

MSc in Management of International Activity (National University of Life & Environmental Sciences of Ukraine), MSc in Food & Agribusiness Management of Wageningen University (The Netherlands).  Member of the ‘Professional Government’ initiative.


Mr. Verzhykhovskyi is a deputy general director on quality management at Industrial Milk Company. He is responsible for implementation of a project of restructuring business processes at IMC, improving the efficiency of the company, optimizing personnel and resource exploitation, improving the existing system of motivation with transition to the system based on achievement of key performance indicators (KPI).

Joined to the UCAB team in May 2013 as an expert of agricultural markets. From June 2015 to June 2016 was the head of the UCAB expert group. In January 2016 joined the team of Leibniz Institute of Agricultural development in countries with transitive economy, IAMO (Halle, Germany). Specialist in a market analysis, research of Ukrainian and international agricultural markets. Is a member of the International Association of Agricultural Economists (IAAE) and the European Association of Agricultural Economists (EAAE). Bachelor in "Management of foreign economic activity" and "Jurisprudence", Master of a science – "Administrative Management" at National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine, held advanced training at IAMO. Has experience in conducting of projects in the EU.
