The rate of wheat export declined
Since the beginning of the 2017/2018 marketing year, as at January 1, wheat exports from Ukraine decreased by 800 thous. tons compared to the same period last year and amounted to 11.2 mln tons.

UCAB opposes «soy amendment»
Leading agricultural associations of Ukraine addressed an open letter to the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko asking to protect the legitimate interests of Ukrainian agricultural producers, which were violated when Parliament adopted amendment No. 180, which cancels VAT refunds for the export of rapeseed, soybeans and sunflower.

UCAB 2017: the results of the year
In 2017, the number of UCAB members reached a record level. One of the most important indicators of UCAB work is the rapid increase in the number of members this year. For today, the Association has 105 companies, which occupy key positions in the agrarian market of Ukraine. UCAB consists of 29 agrarian holdings, which own land on area of 3.5 mln ha, that located in almost all regions of Ukraine.

World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim, who is on an official two-day visit in Kyiv, met this morning with representatives of Ukrainian agribusiness. According to Taras Vysotskyi, General Director of the Association “Ukrainian Agribusiness Club”, the meeting discussed the ways to increase productivity in the agricultural sector and the role of Ukraine in global food security.

Vegetable prices continue to decline
In October, the prices of “borsch” vegetables, as predicted, continued to decline. Thus, the average level of purchasing prices for potatoes decreased by 7% compared to September, cabbage - by 16%, carrots - by 12%, onions - by 15%. The price for beet has not changed.

The seasonal peak of vegetable production ends in Ukraine
As predicted, in September the vegetable prices showed a downward price trend. The onion fell in price most of all (-9%), while potato and beet prices decreased by 1%. The offer increase of apples led to the price drop of 18%. Meat and milk increased in price by 2%-4%. The group of grocery products has remained unchanged.
