Profitable crops for Ukrainian steppes
Profitability analysis of grain and oil-bearing crops production for the years 2007-2011 shows that sunflower is the most profitable crop in Ukraine and in most regions of the Ukrainian steppe. But there are some exceptions. Thus, in the Crimea the average profitability of corn production for the analyzed period is 64%, while sunflower – just 35%: in the Kherson region the average index of soybean production amounts to 42%, while of sunflower - 31%.

The winners are: JOHN DEERE - best manufacturer of agricultural machinery; BAYER CROPSCIENCE - best manufacturer of agrochemical products; SYNGENTA - best manufacturer of seeds; Eridon - best dealer in among resource companies in Ukraine.

At low prices for “vegetables for borsch” one should diversify production – expert
Ukrainian producers are focusing on growing traditional "vegetables for borsch": white cabbage, carrots, table beets, onions and a few more others. This led to overproduction and reduced profitability. The solution for farmers under such circumstances may be a switch to alternative vegetable crops.

Domestic standards to block Ukrainian poultry meat entry to EU market
The long-awaited entry to EU market for Ukrainian poultry producers could may never happen, even despite the agreements reached with the European Union. The main obstacle may be seen in National Standard on "Poultry meat. General standard specifications" – i.e. inconsistency of some norms with international standards, - the Association "Ukrainian Agribusiness Club" and the "Union of Poultry Farmers of Ukraine" say, appealing with a respective letter to the Prime Minister of Ukraine.

930 mio UAH down the drain during New Year and Christmas holidays in Ukraine
If to take the standard holiday variety of dishes for four adults and two children, one can see that the average cost of wasted food products amounts to 180 UAH. Taking into consideration the total city population of Ukraine, festive wastes account for about 930 million UAH.

Agriproducers defined main risks for 2013
According to a survey conducted by the Association "Ukrainian Agribusiness Club" (UCAB), more than 70 percent of managers and owners of Ukrainian agricultural companies are concerned about the outlook for their work in 2013. It was mentioned by the President of UCAB Alex Lissitsa, commenting on the results of the study, conducted on the eve of the Conference "Doing Agribusiness in Ukraine: Prospects for 2013".

Prices for Russia farmland returned to pre-crisis level
The dynamics of the land market in the Russian Federation over the past five years shows a rise in the prices of agricultural land after their decline with the onset of the global financial crisis, as well as market revival and increase of the total number of agreements, according to the head of the assets management company JSC Group "Razgulay" (Russia), Vitaly Bochkov, who will deliver a speech during the IV International Conference "Doing Agribusiness in Ukraine: prospects for 2013", which will be held on December 6 in Kyiv.

Grain exports regulation shall be applied as last extreme measure only
Export restrictions in the grain market is the last of the possible options for its control and shall be applied only in case of extreme necessity - the Association "Ukrainian Agribusiness Club" (UCAB) stated.
