This year's grain yield is at record levels
As of 7 September, Ukraine has harvested 37.7 mln tons of grain and legumes, that is 896 thous. tons less than the same period last year. Despite the unfavorable weather conditions in spring, grain and legumes yields are only by 1.5% lower than last year and amount to 38.4 centner/ha.

August price review and forecast for September
In August this year the prices of vegetables decreased significantly in comparison with July, for example, the potato lost 16% of cost, the carrots - 34%, the cabbage prices decreased by 50%. However, the apples prices increased by 8.9%, because the market received the offer of expensive varieties, which supported the price. In September, the prices of vegetables will continue to decline

Winter promises to be sweet

The volume of world trade in rye has fallen to a record low
In 2016, the volume of world trade in rye was the lowest for the last 15 years and amounted to only 960 thous. tons. The largest exporters were Poland, Germany and Canada with shares of 40, 20 and 13%, respectively. Since 2013, the volume of world trade in rye decreases annually by 20%.

The number of grain hoppers has increased, but the issues have not diminished
The problems with the availability of rolling stock and its distribution on Ukrainian Railways Ukrzaliznytsia appear every summer at the beginning of the new marketing season, when the offer and load are maximal. Over the last year, the number of wagons has increased by 21% in Ukraine, but market participants continue to have problems with the transportation of their products.
