Brazilian farmers are suffering from low corn prices
Over the past two months, the cost of Brazilian corn has declined significantly - from USD 200/MT to USD 159/MT on delivery terms of CIF, Sao Paulo. Even the USDA forecast for the decline of corn production in the country doesn’t stop the fall in prices - the agency reduced its production figures in 2017/2018 MY to 83,5 mln tons (-1.5 mln tons to the previous forecast).

China is a new player in the global market of sunflower meal
In 2017-18, China significantly increased the volume of sunflower meal imports after the Ministry of Agriculture of the country signed sanitary and phytosanitary protocols and requirements for quality characteristics of imported sunflower meal from Russia and Ukraine. It is forecasted that in 2017-18, China will import about 150 thous. tons of meal. The weather dictates its rules of game on the global wheat market
World wheat production in 2018/2019 MY will decrease to 747,7 mln tons, that is 10,6 mln tons less than a year earlier. At the same time, consumption will continue to grow and, according to forecasts of the USDA analysts, will reach 753, 8 mln tons, which is 10 mln tons more than last year's figure.

Shashlik season is open
In April 2018, compared to the last month, the cost of poultry meat increased from 54,6 to 55,2 UAH/kg, beef and pork prices didn’t rise significantly - by 30 and 50 kopecks/kg, respectively. In the short term, it should not be expected that meat will be cheaper.
