Capitalization of Ukrainian agricultural companies decreased by 30%
Ukrainian agricultural companies represented on the international stock exchanges as of March 11, 2014 lost 29.8 % of market capitalization compared to the similar date of 2013. A year ago 14 main representatives of Ukrainian agricultural industry have been evaluated in 6968,9 mln USD, but today their market capitalization is estimated at 4893 mln USD. It was informed by the Association "Ukrainian Agribusiness Club".

In 2014 areas under corn won't change
About 80% of agricultural producers do not plan to change the sowing area under corn in 2014. This is evidenced by the results of survey conducted by the agency AgriSurvey.

Farmers are asking to cancel major corruption schemes in agriculture on legislative level and do not continue the scandalous initiatives of the previous Government
Co-chairs of the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Forum and representatives of professional associations in the field of agriculture sent letters to the Acting President Oleksandr Turchynov, the heads of parliamentary fractions and groups ("Batkivshchyna", "UDAR", "Svoboda", "Party of Regions”, Communist Party, the Group "Economic Development", the Group “Sovereign European Ukraine”), Deputy Chairman of Fraction of Party of Regions in Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Serhiy Tigipko, Chairman of the Committee of Verkhovna Rada on National Security and Defense Volodymyr Lytvyn with a request for urgent adoption of a package of bills that will help to destroy the source of corruption in agricultural sector, eliminating unnecessary permissions and procedures.

Exports of live cattle from Ukraine increased in 4.5 times
According to the State Statistics Committee last year Ukraine exported 10.5 ths heads of live cattle, that is in 4.5 times more than the figures of 2012. It was informed by the Association "Ukrainian Agribusiness Club” (UCAB).

Price for gas for greenhouses will decrease by 25%
In 2014, greenhouses can get significant support and impetus for development. In particular, it is planned to reduce the price for natural gas for greenhouses up to 286 USD (by 25%) per 1,000 cubic meters, excluding VAT and additional tariffs. Also, it is supposed to reduce the cost of electricity by 10%. These measures will help offset the impact of the negative profitability in production of vegetables in greenhouses in 2012 by agricultural enterprises of Ukraine at the rate of -0.1%. Certification of grain quality costs for farmers extra $ 1 billion UAH
According to the International Finance Corporation, annual expences of agricultural producers on certification of grain quality and food processing accounted for 136 mln UAH in 2011/12 marketing year. Now, because of increasing exports of grain and technical crops, these costs can amount to 160 mln UAH.

Profitability of growing major crops dropped significantly in 2013 - survey
Over 50% of farmers noted that profitability for each of the major crops has dropped in 2013. Such results are outlined in survey of independent agricultural enterprises, conducted by AgriSurvey in January 2014.

In 2013 exports of sunflower oil has decreased by 11%
In 2013, exports of sunflower oil decreased by 404,6 ths t (11,2%) up to 3209,4 ths t compared to the previous year. In money equivalent, the reduction amounts to 693,1 mln USD or 17,4%. It was informed by the Association "Ukrainian Agribusiness Club” (UCAB).

Sausage imports declined by almost 30%

Export of agricultural products has decreased by 4.8% for the year
For Ukrainian agriculture, 2013 ended with positive balance in foreign trade – 8,8 bln USD, that is 14,7% less than the previous year. Herewith, exports of agricultural products totaled 17 bln USD, that is 4,8% less than the previous year's figures. The same time, imports increased by 8.8% and totaled 8,2 bln USD.
