2013 winter wheat acreage to be increased
Despite the fact that last year farmers of the steppe zone were able to harvest only 76% of winter wheat with an average yield of only 18.9 centners per hectare, the area for the next harvest in the region has not decreased, but even partially increased to 3.55 million hectares, the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club told UKRINFORM.

Agrarian Fund sells grain at UAH 0.5 billion at agricultural stock exchange
The Agrarian Fund sold nine lots to the amount of 225,300 tons of grain at the first open stock exchange trading. The Fund received about UAH 492 million, which will be enough for advance payment for forward contracts.

Domestic standards to block Ukrainian poultry meat entry to EU market
The long-awaited entry to EU market for Ukrainian poultry producers could may never happen, even despite the agreements reached with the European Union. The main obstacle may be seen in National Standard on "Poultry meat. General standard specifications" – i.e. inconsistency of some norms with international standards, - the Association "Ukrainian Agribusiness Club" and the "Union of Poultry Farmers of Ukraine" say, appealing with a respective letter to the Prime Minister of Ukraine.

USDA: U.S. corn exports drops to the lowest level in over 40 years
The US Department of Agriculture raised forecasts world production of corn and soybeans, only slightly reducing of wheat. Meanwhile, forecasts of global ending stocks for wheat exceeded market expectations, and for corn and soybeans - are lower.

Ukraine may do without cane sugar in 2013
After two years of imports of raw sugar, 2012 has become the first year after Ukraine's accession to the WTO, when the quota for imports at reduced 2-percent tariff was not used. Balance calculations show that in 2013 sugar beet industry in Ukraine once again will be able to provide 100% of domestic demand for sugar. This was stated by UCAB advisor on agricultural markets Taras Vysotskyi.
