Ukraine. Nine-month throughput of OCSP is down 8.5%, to 18.79m tons
Freight turnover of state-run Odessa Commercial Sea Port (OCSP, Ukraine) in January-September fell 8.5% as compared with the same period of 2009, to 18 million 792.5 thousand tons, the company’s report said. In the reporting period the operator handled 10 million 169.8 thousand tons of dry cargo, down 16.4% from Jan-Sept., 2009, and 8,622,700 tons of liquid bulk cargo, or a 2.8-percent gain y-o-y.

Nearly 37 million tons of grain harvested in Ukraine
As of October 8, according to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine, 36.88 million tons of grain was harvested from an area of 13,690,000 hectares, accounting for 93% of the plan. The average yield of grain and leguminous crops reaches 26.9 centners per hectare.

USA - Grain stocks up 2%
Old crop corn stocks in all positions on September 1, 2010 totaled 1.71 billion bushels, up 2 percent from September 1, 2009. Of the total stocks, 485 million bushels are stored on farms, down 20 percent from a year earlier. Off-farm stocks, at 1.22 billion bushels, are up 15 percent from a year ago. The June - August 2010 indicated disappearance is 2.60 billion bushels, compared with 2.59 billion bushels during the same period last year.
