Ukraine: as of October 1, grain stocks down 24%
As of October 1, 2010, in Ukraine agricultural enterprises (except of small ones) and grain storage and processing enterprises stocked 17.9 mln tonnes of grains (including 9.9 mln tonnes of wheat, 3.2 mln tonnes of barley, 3.3 mln tonnes of maize, 0.4 mln tonnes of rye), down 24% compared to October 1, 2009, informed the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine on October 15.
Directly agrarian companies stored 10.5 mln tonnes of grains (down 21%), including 5.7 mln tonnes of wheat, 2.2 mln tonnes of barley, 1.5 mln tonnes of maize, 0.1 mln tonnes of rye.
Grain storage and processing enterprises stored 7.4 mln tonnes of grains (down 21%), including directly grain storage enterprises – 5.5 mln tonnes (down 21%).
Besides, sunflower seeds storing volumes totaled 4.3 mln tonnes (down 30% compared to October 1, 2009). At the same time, directly agrarian enterprises (except of the small ones) stored 2 mln tonnes of the oilseed (down 38%). The enterprises, dealing with sunflower storing and processing, stocked 2.3 mln tonnes of the oilseed (up 23% compared to the previous year).
