FAO Food Price Index falls again
The FAO Food Price Index fell for the third consecutive month in June 2012, dipping 1.8 percent from May to its lowest level since September 2010. The four-point drop in June brought the index to 201 points from a revised level of 205 points in May 2012.

Prime Minister supported the UCAB proposal of reviewing the ratio of normative-monetary value of agricultural lands

Fifth part of annual wheat consumption should be reserved - expert

Rada allows Cabinet to borrow $3 billion for agro-industrial complex
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has adopted the bill on amendments to the Law of Ukraine on the State Budget of Ukraine for 2012 (concerning public borrowing), which allowed the Cabinet to draw a loan amounting to 24.3 billion UAH for projects envisaged by the Ukrainian-Chinese agreement on cooperation in the agricultural sector, according to the parliamentary website.

Quantity of nitrates in early watermelons and melons do not exceed standards
The first melon products appeared this year on the wholesale markets almost a month earlier than usual. Last season watermelons and melons were considered early if they appeared on July12-15th. The first products in season 2012 on the markets of Kyiv could be already bought on 15th of June and in the south of Ukraine they were available even earlier. According to experts of the Association "Ukrainian Agribusiness Club" (UCAB), the amount of nitrates is normal in the early products that are sold on wholesale markets.

Mykola Azarov: Bread prices will be stable
Bread prices will be stable - the Government takes no actions that bring to "shock" in the domestic grain market. It is provided by the created grain reserves, large carry-overs and crop forecast for current year at a level of 43 million tons of grain.
