Ukraine produced over 10 mln tonnes of grains
As of July 13, 2012, agrarians of Ukraine harvested early grains and leguminous plants throughout the areas of 5.2 mln ha, or 52% of the forecast. The produced volumes totaled 10.7 mln tonnes of grains, an increase of 28.9% compared to the same date in 2011. At the same time, the average yield of early grains totaled 20.6 c/ha (in 2011 – 28.4 c/ha), declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
In particular, agrarians harvested barley throughout 1.7 mln ha (51% of the plan), and produced 3 mln tonnes of the grain with the average yield at 17.2 c/ha (in 2011 – 26.5 c/ha).
Agrarians harvested winter wheat throughout the areas of 3.2 mln ha (57%), and produced 7.4 mln tonnes with the yield at 22.8 c/ha, as opposed to 31.2 c/ha on the same date last year.
Besides, as of the reporting date agrarians harvested 56 thsd tonnes of rye throughout the areas of 27 thsd ha, with the average yield of 20.6 c/ha (in 2011 – 21.2 c/ha).
Agrarians harvested winter rapeseed throughout the areas of 300 thsd ha (52% of the forecast), and produced 617 thsd tonnes with the average yield of 20.5 c/ha (in 2011 – 13.5 c/ha).
As a reminder, according to updated data of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, in the current year the production of grains and leguminous crops in Ukraine is expected at the level of 45.3 mln tonnes, against the record index of 56.7 mln tonnes in 2011.
