Ukrainian farmers welcome the final adoption of the ATMs rollover by the EU Council
The decision by the EU Council taken today, on May 13, to extend the EU autonomous trade measures (ATMs) for Ukraine marks the end of a difficult process, which has seen many pitfalls and disappointments for the Ukrainian farmers and agriproducers.

The Ukrainian farmers and agriproducers, represented by UCAB (Ukrainian Agribusiness Club) welcome the positive vote at the European Parliament plenary session today on the ATMs rollover for Ukraine. It is encouraging that the EU finally demonstrates a strong political will to support Ukraine economically in the face of the Russian onslaught. We look forward to the speedy approval of the draft regulation by the EU Council well in time before the expiry of the current trade preferences.

The Ukrainian farmers and agriproducers, represented by UCAB (Ukrainian Agribusiness Club), take note of today’s vote in the European Parliament Committee on International Trade (INTA) regarding a fresh compromise on the ATMs rollover for Ukraine. We hope that the vote paves the way for the speedy adoption of the draft regulation at the European Parliament plenary session and the EU Council without further undue delays.

The Ukrainian farmers and agriproducers, members of UCAB welcome a compromise proposal on extending EU trade preferences for Ukraine, reached yesterday evening at the trialogue consultations and confirmed today at the European Parliament INTA Committee. It is high time for the Member States to heed the opinion of the European Parliament and accept the compromise proposal.
