Ukraine increased agro-food export to Turkey by 71%
According to the results of 2019, Ukraine became the second largest supplier of agro-food products to Turkey and occupied 11% in terms of the structure of Turkish imported agricultural products ceding only to Russia. Last year, supply of agro-food products from Ukraine to Turkey totaled USD 1.4 billion that is 71% more comparing with 2018.

Capital investments in agricultural sector declined by UAH 10 billion last year
In general, capital investments in the Ukrainian economy in 2019 amounted approximately to UAH 584.5 billion, where about UAH 54.6 billion or 10% of the total investments was attracted to agriculture, hunting and related services.

In 2019 Ukraine increased potato import 43 times
Last year potato import was at a record high - 251 thousand tonnes of root crops were imported to Ukraine, which is 43 times higher than the previous year's figure and 13 times higher than the figure of 2010.

In 2019 agri-food export from Ukraine increased by 19%
In 2019 agri-food export from Ukraine amounted to USD 22.2 billion that is 19% more than in 2018. Import of the specified products over the same period last year increased by 14% as well amounting to USD 5.7 billion. In general, foreign trade balance of agri-food products totalled USD 16.5 billion indicating that Ukraine is a net exporter of these products.

Ukraine has historically increased its wheat export this marketing year
Within less than 7 months of 2019/2020 wheat export exceeded index of the entire previous season. As of 27 January 2020, volume of the exported wheat over the period of July 2019 - January 2020 exceeded the annual level of 2018/19 MY by 30 thousand tonnes and reached 15.6 million tonnes.

Areas planted with soybeans decreased by 15%
Ukrainian agrarians in 2018 have sown 1709 thous. hectares of soybeans, that is 15% less than in the previous year. The largest reduction of sown areas were observed in the central and northern regions.

Brazilian farmers are suffering from low corn prices
Over the past two months, the cost of Brazilian corn has declined significantly - from USD 200/MT to USD 159/MT on delivery terms of CIF, Sao Paulo. Even the USDA forecast for the decline of corn production in the country doesn’t stop the fall in prices - the agency reduced its production figures in 2017/2018 MY to 83,5 mln tons (-1.5 mln tons to the previous forecast).
