VR refused to cancel alcohol products minimal prices
Verkhovna Rada has refused to abolish establishing wholesale/retail sale prices for domestically made alcoholic products.
First reading adoption of draft Law № 3634 “About State Regulation of Production and Circulation of Ethyl, Brandy and Fruit Spirits as well as Alcohol Drinks and Tobacco Products” was voted for by only 170 people deputies of total necessary 226.
As to draft Law, norms stipulating Cabinet right to establish minimal wholesale/retail sale prices for some kinds of domestically made alcoholic drinks (in part., brandy, vodka and hard drinks) should be abolished.
It is to be reminded, Nov 15/08 Cabinet established minimal wholesale/retail sale prices for Ukrainian alcohol products: in part., vodka minimal retail sale price was fixed UAH14 per 0,5 liter bottle, “3 Stars” grade brandy − UAH25 per 0,5 liter bottle (“4 Stars” − UAH28,01 per 0,5 liter bottle, “5 Stars” − UAH32 per 0,5 liter bottle).
