Ukraine. Winter crops mainly in good and satisfactory condition
Winter crops in Ukraine were mainly in good and satisfactory condition as of October 29, 2010.
The Ukrainian Agriculture Ministry said in a statement that as of October 29, of winter grain crops sown on an area of 7.9 million hectares, the crops had sprouted on seven million hectares, or 90% of the area, with 3.3 million hectares being in good condition (47%), 2.8 million hectares in satisfactory condition (40%), and weak sprouts on 900,000 hectares, or 13%.
Of rapeseed sown on an area of 1.023 million hectares, rapeseed sprouted on 98% of the area, with 480,000 hectares being in good condition (48%) and 377,000 hectares being in satisfactory condition (38%).
