Ukraine to buy John Derre harvesters using U.S. Eximbank's loan
The Ukrainian Agriculture Ministry has reached an agreement with the Export-Import Bank of the United States on the allocation of a loan for the purchase of John Derre harvesters, Agriculture Minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk said at a press conference on Friday, adding that respective negotiations were held during his visit to the United States.
By prior agreement with Eximbank, a loan of USD 250 million will be granted for a period of eight years. "The loan rate is 4% per annum," Prysiazhniuk said.
"The parties have currently signed letters confirming their readiness to start this work. John Derre is actively working with the bank, and we hope that part of this loan will be used by the beginning of the next harvest campaign, and part of combine harvesters will be delivered to our country," he said.
He also said that Ukraine had already exported 3.7 million tons of grain in 2010.
