Ukraine: since May 29 all restrictions for sun oil export were canceled
Since May 29, decree of President of Ukraine No481/2008 from May 28, 2008, that suspended acting of all resolutions of the Government of Ukraine concerning restrictions for sun oil and sunflower seeds export (No189 dd. March 12, 2008, No229 dd. March 19, 2008 and No488 dd. April 23,2008), came into force.
At that, by this decree President declared the decree No 478/2008 from May 26, 2008, that suspended acting of the resolution of Cabinet of Ministers No 189 from March 12, 2008, as lost its efficiency.
This decision President motivated by that the quotation of sun oil export was introduced without realistic estimation of volumes of this product in Ukraine and leads to the negative consequences for domestic fat-and-oil industry. At that, introduction of such restrictions contradicts to the Constitution of Ukraine.
At that, President noted that acting of these resolutions led to the critical state of main production funds in the agro-industrial complex, and consequently, directly threaten economic safety of Ukraine.
At that, according to Yuschenko, acting of these resolutions contradicts to the international obligations of Ukraine after joining WTO in particular as regards cancellation of ungrounded export restrictions.
President assigned the Government of Ukraine to take measures concerning ceasing practice of untimely publication of resolutions of Cabinet of Ministers as it was with the resolution of Cabinet of Ministers No 488 from April 23, 2008, that was published only on May 27, 2008.
