Ukraine. Nothing threatens country's food security - Azarov
Nothing threatens the country's food security, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said during his working visit to Kharkiv, UKRINFORM correspondent reports.
Answering journalists' questions, the Head of government noted that the situation in the country is positive on the whole and EBRD and World Bank experts highly appraise the present economic state of Ukraine.
"Primarily they (EBRD and World Bank experts) note stabilization: stabilization of power, economic, financial and political stabilization," Mykola Azarov has emphasized.
Speaking about Ukraine's main problems, he noted anomalous weather conditions of the present season. "Summer was difficult for the agrarian complex. Prices grew for agricultural products, in particular, fodder grain. But nothing threatens the food security of the country. Presently, purchases of grain are carried out to the stabilization fund. We are planning to purchase about 2.5 million tons of grain."
As concerns urgent tasks of the government for the nearest future, the Prime Minister noted that this and next year they will concern the agrarian sector and the construction sphere. In other sectors, according to him, a progress has been observed.
