Ukraine. Government approves subsidies for sugar beet growing
The Ukrainian government approved the amount of subsidies for agricultural producers for sugar beet growing. It is envisaged by the Cabinet resolution of September 29, 2010 No. 897 On Approval of the Procedure for the Use of the Funds of the Stabilization Fund for State Support of Plant Growing Production.
In particular, the resolution notes that the funds are allocated from the state budget on the irretrievable basis and are sent to the agricultural economies for payment of subsidies for sugar beet growing to produce sugar within the frames of A quota to the amount of UAH 500/ha of sowings (USD 1/UAH 7.90).
In order to set up the register of enterprises entitled to getting the subsidy, it is envisaged to set up special on-site commissions. Sugar beet growing enterprises should file a relevant application will December 1 in order to get a subsidy.
In addition, according to the document, farmers will get the same subsidies for sowing long-fibred flax.
