Ukraine: as of July 1, grain stocks up 13%

As of July 1, 2011, in Ukraine agricultural enterprises (except of small ones) and grain storage and processing enterprises stocked 4.3 mln tonnes of grains (including 1.9 mln tonnes of wheat, 1.1 mln tonnes of barley, 0.9 mln tonnes of maize, 0.1 mln tonnes of rye), an increase of 13% compared to the same date of 2010, informed the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine.
Directly agrarian companies stored 2.2 mln tonnes of grains (down 2%), including 0.8 mln tonnes of wheat, 0.8 mln tonnes of barley, 0.6 mln tonnes of maize, 27.6 thsd tonnes of rye.
Grain storage and processing enterprises stored 2.1 mln tonnes of grains (down 24%), including directly grain storage enterprises – 1.2 mln tonnes (down 24%).
Besides, sunflower seeds storing volumes totaled 0.8 mln tonnes (down 24% compared to July 1, 2010). At the same time, directly agrarian enterprises (except of the small ones) stored 0.2 mln tonnes (down 36% compared to the last year), and storage and processing enterprises – 0.6 mln tonnes of sunflower seeds (down 19%).
The doemstic consumption of grains in Ukraine is estimated at the level of nearly 26 mln tonnes per year.
