Association “Ukrainian Agribusiness Club” and Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv will cooperate to promote innovative development of agribusiness in Ukraine

In May 2014, the association “Ukrainian Agribusiness Club” (UCAB) and Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (KNU) signed a memorandum of cooperation.  Henceforth, Taras Shevchenko National University will provide information support to a nationwide project “AgriBusiness Ideas of Advanced Students”(AgriBIAS) launched by UCAB in April 2014.

The project “AgriBusiness Ideas of Advanced Students” is open for students and graduates of all professions and provides an opportunity for young professionals to get a job in leading agricultural companies. Just in two months, it has attracted attention of numerous universities in Ukraine.

“The Employment Center of Taras Shevchenko National University willingly supports social projects for students. Considering the rapid development of the agricultural sector in Ukraine, it will be very expedient if our students participate in the competition “AgriBusiness Ideas of Advanced Students”. We look forward to fruitful cooperation with the Association “Ukrainian Agribusiness Club" and we hope that our students will contribute to the development of the agricultural sector of our country", the head of the Employment Center of Taras Shevchenko National University Anatoliy Chernyak says.

The social project “AgriBusiness Ideas of Advanced Students” responds to the actual needs of the labor market in Ukraine. According to the survey, conducted by the AgriSurvey agency, every third student of Ukrainian agricultural universities wants to start his/her own business. Moreover, for 76% of graduating students, self-fulfillment and career growth are central requirements to their first jobs.

"The survey results demonstrate initiative and high ambitions of modern graduates. We should take an advantage of this impulse and use it for the development of the agricultural sector by creating employment opportunities for talented and creative young people”, the research coordinator of AgriSurvey Anna Kvit says.

We remind that Signet Agriholding, BayerCropScience, BASF, Eridon, KWS Ukraine, AGCO Representative Office in Ukraine and New Holland Agriculture are partners of the project.
