Ukraine intensified agro foreign trade in 1H 2016
According to information of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, agro foreign trade balance surplus has reached 4.8 B USD in 1H 2016. Along with, export has gained 3.3% to 6.7 B USD and import 10% has increased to 1.9 B USD.
Agro import share increased from 9.7% to 11.3% in 2016. An overall import growth is observed within all groups of agricultural products, leading group is fats and oils – 44%, mainly due to increase of demand for palm oil by 78%.
Agro export share increased by 35.4% in the overall structure during 1H 2015 and by 40.8% during 1H 2016.
Major growth was marked in export of overall fats and oils by 21.5% or +346.7 M USD due to increase of plant and bees’ wax in 9.8 times. Also, slight upward move was noted in plants’ products export operations (+1.5% or +50.7 M USD).
1H 2016 export of live animals and animals’ products has decreased comparing to the same period of 2015 by 13.3% or -48.7 M USD, mainly due to narrowing of pork and cattle meat supplies. Along with, ready food export has declined by 11.2% (-134.5 M USD).
