Sunflower oil export up
During seven months of the current marketing year (September 2008 - August 2009), Ukraine exported 1.147 million tons of sunflower oil, which is 15.3% up on the like period of the past MY, the UkrOilProm association reported.
Particularly, the export of sunflower oil in March made almost 203,000 tons.
The production of sunflower oil in Ukraine from the beginning of the current marketing year reached 1.448 million tons (without that of oileries), which is 13.8% more than during the first seven months of MY 2007/2008.
To produce this volume of oil, refineries processed 3.4 million tons of sunflower, or about 3.7 million tons together with oileries.
According to the state committee for control over farm produce, by April 1, 2009, the remainder of sunflower seeds in Ukraine was 2.3 million tons.
UkrOilProm predicts the production of sunflower oil in the volume of 2.5 million tons this MY.
