On June 20, 2012 the "Bayer CropScience" division of the "Bayer" company in Ukraine, the Association "Ukrainian Agribusiness Club" (UCAB) and the agency “AgriEvent” supported by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Ukraine in a framework of Ukrainian Day of young agronomist successfully conducted workshop "Bayer CropScience Technologies" held at the research facility "Bayer Agro Arena "(Poltava region, m.Horol).

During seminar students and graduates of agronomic specialties of Ukrainian universities received comprehensive information on modern technologies in crop cultivation and saw the features of their application during a visit to the research station "Bayer Agro Arena."

Workshop participants were welcomed by the Head of "Bayer CropScience" in Ukraine, Andreas Lohel, Head of marketing "Bayer CropScience ", Boris Timofeev, Deputy General Director on International Projects of the Association "Ukrainian Agribusiness Club", Karen Fisher, Senior Researcher of Scientific Agricultural Education Center of Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Ukraine, Tetyana Khomenko.

41 future specialist-agronomists learned during the workshop about innovative technologies "Bayer CropScience" in area of plant protection and practically mastered the peculiarities of field crop production. Organizers and participants are convinced that received knowledge will find its practical application in the future during professional career of students. Especially, as almost all participants expressed a desire to work in agronomy field after graduation.

““Bayer CropScience”, “Ukrainian Agribusiness Club” and agency “AgriEvent” had successfully conducted a workshop for students-agronomists for the third time. As experience shows that most participants of such educational activities successfully use obtained knowledge and practical skills after graduation from universities. According to statistics, majority of graduates successfully master the chosen profession: 46% of the participants of previous workshops employed in agricultural companies, 20% - in Agroholdings and 10% - in agricultural companies of international level, such as "Bayer""- said the Director of the agency “AgriEvent”, Anatoly Tsyrkun.

““Bayer CropScience” clearly understands the high importance of specialists training in new technologies in agronomy. Therefore, the annual workshop has become a good tradition, we certainly will continue. Also I would like to note that the number of young people interested with modern trends in agronomy is constantly growing and their overall knowledge level is high. That makes me really happy. In general, it is worth saying that this event was held at a high level, and participants showed great interest in the topic of the seminar", said the Head of marketing "Bayer CropScience", Boris Timofeev.

The event was attended by 41 representatives of agricultural universities of Ukraine, from the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine, Kharkiv National Agrarian University, Belotserkovsky National Agrarian University, Uman State University Horticulture, Mykolayiv State Agrarian University and Tauria Agrotechnological State University, Dnepropetrovsk Agricultural University, Vinnytsia National Agrarian University, Lviv National Agrarian University, Poltava State Agrarian Academy.

All workshop participants were awarded certificates and top 10 students received valuable gifts - annual subscriptions to magazines "Agroexpert" and "Zerno".

Given the high success, the workshop organizers plan to conduct such educational activities next year in all regions of Ukraine.
