Russia: United grain company not determined concerning participation of private investors
The government has not brought up the issue concerning participation of private investors in United grain company yet, declared Viktor Zubkov, the First Vice-Premier of the Russian Federation, on April 4. At the same time, the issue will appear after the launching of the company, according to him. To date, Ministries and departments solve issues about the head, regulations and priorities of the company. The mentioned work is expected to take nearly two weeks.
As a reminder, Agency of food market regulation, which has 100% of own stocks in federal property, renames to United grain company, according to the decree of the President of the Russian Federation. The priority directions of activity of the company will include the increase of purchasing and selling volumes of grains on the domestic market, rise of grain export volumes, modernization and construction of new elevators and port terminals. The Government was charged to provide the necessary measures in nine-month term.
The President charged to bring shares of 31 joint-stock companies, owned by the government, in the authorized capital stock of United grain company.
Dmitry Medvedev accepted several propositions of the government of the Russian Federation concerning the strategy of development of "United grain company" for 2009-2012 years and till 2015. According to the decree, the strategy should provide the possibility of private capital formation in the company. United grain company was put in the list of strategic enterprises and joint-stock companies of the country.
