The first million tons of wheat has been grinded
As of July 10, the harvesting campaign is carried out in 17 regions of the country, 2.9 million tons has been grinded. Pea crops were collected most of all - about a quarter of the planted area. Despite the increase in the sown area of this crop by 68% to 386 thous. hectares, the yield is currently 2.4 tons / ha, that is 22% less than the same period last year. Barley has already been harvested from 529 thous. hectares, that is almost twice lower than the same period last year, yield dropped by 5% to 3.2 tons / ha.
Wheat has the lowest indicators of collected areas - for today was gathered only 308 thous. hectares or 5% of the planted area. The first million tons has already been grinded, however, the yield of wheat is lower by 11% than the same period last year and totaled 3.3 tons / ha. As predicted, the lack of soil moisture during the period of grain ripening and the unstable temperature regime led to a delay of harvesting and crop reduction.
