Mykola Azarov: Bread prices will be stable
Bread prices will be stable - the Government takes no actions that bring to "shock" in the domestic grain market. It is provided by the created grain reserves, large carry-overs and crop forecast for current year at a level of 43 million tons of grain. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said this during a meeting with representatives of NGOs working in the agricultural sector of Ukraine on July 3, 2012.
"The Government attaches great importance, of course, to forward purchases of grain, because it gives a guaranteed demand, guaranteed purchases by the state" - the Prime Minister stressed.
The Government has already implemented a number of measures to promote public food stocks. As of today, the Agrarian Fund has concluded the state forward contracts with producers of grain for more than 900 thousand tons. This year UAH 2.6 billion is planned to allocate for the conclusion of forward contracts.
