Egypt's GASC buys 240,000 T French, Argentine wheat
Grain Ukraine. Egypt bought 240,000 metric tons of wheat from France and Argentine on a free-on-board basis for shipment between December 11-20 on a tender of October 3
The state-run General Authority for Supply Commodities purchased:
- 60,000 tons of French wheat from Venus at $342.50/ton with freight costs of $15.30 (2 ports) with a deduction of $1.90 if 1 port
- 60,000 tons of French wheat from Granit at $345.30/ton with freight costs of $13.40 (1 port)
- 60,000 tons of French wheat from Nidera at $345.30/ton with freight costs of $15.80 (2 ports) with a deduction of $2.00 if 1 port
- 60,000 tons of Argentine wheat from Glencore at $333.68/ton with freight costs of $25.66 (1 port)
On the tender Egyptians wanted to buy a soft or milling wheat following origin: United States, Canada, France, Australia, Germany, Britain, Russia, Kazakhstan, Romania, Ukraine and Poland.
It was GASC's ninth international wheat purchase since the July 1 start of the 2012/13 fiscal year. During these nine
tenders Egypt purchased 2,260,000 tons of wheat, including 1,020,000 tons from Russia, 280,000 tons from Ukraine, 360,000 tons from Romania, 540,000 tons from France and 60,000 tons from Argentine.
During the 2011/12 fiscal year, GASC purchased 5.33 million tons of wheat, including 3.24 million tons of Russian wheat, 300,000 tons of Argentinean wheat, 180,000 tons of Romanian wheat, 240,000 tons of Kazakh (Russian?) wheat, 360,000 tons of Ukrainian wheat, 300,000 tons of French wheat, 60,000 tons of seller's option (Rus/Ukr/Kaz) and 60,000 tons of seller's option (Rus/Kaz), 530,000 tons U.S. wheat and 60,000 tons of Canadian wheat.
In the 2010/11 fiscal year, GASC purchased some 5.58 million tons of French, U.S., Canadian, Australian and Argentine wheat.
