CLAAS set to produce combine harvesters, tractors in Ukraine
Ukraine's agricultural machinery producers and CLAAS, one of world's leading harvester producers, under the auspices of the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food of Ukraine reached an agreement on a pilot project for co-production of Tucano combine harvesters and Xerion tractors in Ukraine, the ministry said in a statement.
A number of meetings on these and other issues were held as part of a visit of the Ukrainian delegation to Germany to attend the International Trade Fair for Livestock Euro Tier 2012, November 13-16, in Hanover.
"As a result of the talks, the sides reached an agreement on a pilot project for joint production of combine harvesters and tractors CLAAS Tucano and Xerion (over 350 hp). Apart from this, the sides outlined a schedule of delivery of components for producing the machinery at the agricultural engineering companies in Ukraine," the report says.
It is also noted that the German Engineering Federation (VDMA) and the All-Ukrainian Association of Mechanical Engineers (Ukragromash) strengthen cooperation. In particular, a round table meeting will soon be held to identify possible options for further cooperation.
