Bio-power plant under construction
Zorg Biogas Ukraine is building a biogas plant in the Zhytomyrsky region of Ukraine, starting this spring, with completion due by Q4 2011.
The plant intends to process 60 tonnes a day of corn and grass silo, supplied by local agricultural businesses, and generate 1063kW of renewable electricity.
Zorg Biogas Ukraine” will conduct the planning, commissioning and provide the technical equipment, while construction works will be carried out by a local company specialising in the production of biodiesel and pellets, working under the supervision of Zorg Biogas Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Dniproenergo, the largest thermal electricity generating company in Ukraine with installed capacities of 8,185 MW, plans to modernise its 300 MW power unit No 1 at Zaporizhya TPP during 2011-1H12. Reconstruction will add 20 MW at capacity side and reduce fuel consumption by 8%.
