Belarus-Ukraine trade 46.2% up in January-August 2010
In January-August 2010 the trade turnover between Belarus and Ukraine exceeded $2.6 billion (46.2% up on the same period 2009), BelTA learnt from the trade and economic group of the Belarusian Embassy in Ukraine.
Belarusian export was up 52.8% to a total of $1.6 billion, the import increased by 37.7% to $1 billion. Belarus reached a $484 million surplus in trade with Ukraine.
As it was mentioned at a regular session of the intergovernmental Belarus-Ukraine commission for trade and economic cooperation, Belarus and Ukraine intend to make $4.3 billion in mutual trade in 2010.
In 2009, amid the crisis, the Belarus-Ukraine trade made up almost $3 billion (Belarus’ surplus totaled some $404 million).
