Belarus produced 2 mln tonnes of grains

As of the morning of July 28, 2011, Belarusian agricultural enterprises produced 2.142 mln tonnes of new crop grains, informed the Ministry of Agriculture and Food. The average yield in the country totaled 32.6 c/ha.
Generally, agrarians harvested grains and leguminous crops throughout the areas of 656.6 thsd ha, which totaled 27.1% of the harvesting areas.
Belarus harvested malting barley throughout 17.3 thsd ha (15.3% of the plan), and produced 56.2 thsd tonnes of the grain with the average yield of 32.4 c/ha.
Agrarians harvested winter rapeseed throughout 210.1 thsd ha, or 84.3% of the harvesting areas, and produced 337.8 thsd tonnes with the average yield of 16.1 c/ha.
The campaign of mass harvesting of grains in Belarus should be completed on August 20-22 in all regions of the country, reported Mikhail Rusyi, Minister of Agriculture and Food of Belarus, on July 27.
M.Rusyi stressed that the general grain harvest in the country is expected to reach the level of over 9 mln tonnes with maize.
