Agriculture Ministry: Ukraine harvests 11.5 million tons of wheat
Ukrainian farmers harvested about 11.572 million tons of wheat from 4,567 hectares as of July 23, 2012, with the yield being 25.3 centners per hectare. On the same date last year, farmers harvested 16.032 million tons from 4,969 hectares, the Ukrainian Agricultural Policy and Food Ministry has told UKRINFORM.
"Grain and leguminous crops were harvested from about 7,681 hectares, or 77% of the target. Farmers harvested about 17.509 million tons of grain, with the yield being 22.8 centners per hectare," the ministry.
