Agrarian export has reached record high levels
The share of agricultural products in the overall export structure from Ukraine for 9 months increased slightly from 40.2% to 41.3% compared to the same period last year.
According to the State Fiscal Service, for the first three quarters of 2017 the foreign trade surplus of Ukrainian agricultural products increased by almost a third (31%) compared to the same period in 2016 and reached USD 10 bln.
During January-September 2017, imports of agro-food products amounted to USD 3 bln (+ 6% to last year's). Exports reached USD 13 bln, which is by 24% higher than last year's figures. By the results of 2017, Ukraine can establish a historic record of USD 17.9 bln in conditions of sustained dynamics.
The largest increase occurred in the exports of crop products, fats and oils. The exports of crop products increased by 21% (+ USD 1.1 bln), mainly due to increased supplies of corn and rape seeds. The supplies of fats and oils grew by 27% (+ USD 734.5 mln). The growth driver, like last year, remains sunflower oil (+USD 1 bln compared to three quarters of 2016). The supplies of prepared foodstuffs increased by 25% or USD 410 mln and sunflower oil and sugar became the main exported products. The smallest increase was shown by the group of livestock products - + USD 251 mln and the increase was mainly due to the supplies of poultry meat and shell eggs.
