Ukraine ports’ volumes up 4.1%, at 16.82 million tons in January-February
Cargo turnover at the seaports of Ukraine in January-February 2010 reached 16.82 million tons, 4.1% up from the two months in 2009, UkrRudProm reports citing the country’s State Administration of Maritime and River Transport.

Ukrros to boost sugar output
Agricultural holding Sugar Union Ukrros is planning to increase the production of beet sugar in the 2010/11 season by 31.5% to 171,000 tons from 130,000 tons in this season. In the 2008/09 season, Ukrros produced 199,000 tons of sugar.

Yuzhny Port posts a 4.7% volume rise for Jan.-Feb., at 3m tons
Cargo shipments through Commercial Sea Port of Yuzhny (Odessa region, Ukraine) in January-February 2010 rose by 4.7 percent as compared with Jan.-Feb. of 2009, to 3 million tons. Handled commodities totaled 2.221.200 tons, up 1.7% over the same period last year. In January-February the port loaded, off-loaded 137 vessels and 23.320.000 gondola cars, the Yuzhny port’s statement said.
