High growth of agricultural production in Ukraine
During January-February of 2010, the growth of volumes of agriculture production in Ukraine totaled 5.2%, which became one of the highest indices compared to the same periods of 2001-2009, at the same time, agricultural enterprises of the country increased agricultural production by 12.4%, economies of the population decreased the index by 0.8%, declared Bogdan Danilishyn, the ex-Minister of Economics of Ukraine, on March 17.

Ukraine increased grain share by 0.7% in the general commodity exports
In January 2010, commodity exports from Ukraine totaled 3.01 bln USD, imports – 3.32 bln USD, which formed the growth of export indices by 23.6%, and imports – by 63% compared to January 2009 respectively.

Ukraine lowered carry-over stocks of grains by 20%
As of March 1, 2010, agricultural enterprises of Ukraine (except of small ones), and grain storing and processing enterprises stocked 12.8 mln tonnes of grains (down 21% compared to March 1, 2009), including 5.8 mln tonnes of wheat, 3.1 mln tonnes of barley, 2.4 mln tonnes of maize, 0.6 mln tonnes of rye, informed the State Committee of Statistics of Ukraine on March 16.

As of March 1, grain selling in Ukraine lowered by 56%
As of March 1. 2010, grain selling volumes in Ukraine totaled 1.52 mln tonnes, a decrease of 56% compared to the index of the same period last year, declared the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine.
