Georgia to lose own wheat production
According to Tamaz Kunchulia, the academician of agricultural sciences, in the nearest future, Georgia will lost own wheat production facilities. To date, the share of domestic wheat volumes in the general carry-over stocks of the grain totals 8% only, and the share continues decreasing.

As of April 1, Ukraine lowered sowing areas of spring crops by 2.7%
As of April 1, 2010, agricultural enterprises of all varieties in Ukraine sowed spring agricultural crops throughout the areas of 1.04 mln ha, a decrease of 2.7% (29 thsd ha) compared to the indices of the beginning of April in 2009, declared the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine.

Ukraine increased output of agricultural products by 5.3%
During January-March of 2010, the general output of agricultural products in Ukraine increased by 5.3% compared to the same period of 2009, at the same time, agricultural enterprises increased the output by 12.6%, economies of Ukrainian population decreased by 0.7%, declared the State Statistics Committee on April 15.

On April 15, 2010, the National commodity exchange (Russia) provided the regular exchange auction within the bounds of the public purchasing interventions on the market of grains. The government purchased 22.95 thsd tonnes of grains at the general sum of 76.73 mln RUR, declared the media department of CJSC National commodity exchange.

Belarus to export 65,000 tonnes of beetsugar to Ukraine in 2010
A quota has been assigned for Belarus to deliver 65,000 tonnes of beetsugar to Ukraine this year. The two sides have signed the relevant contracts, First Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Vladimir Semashko stated at a briefing in Kyiv after a session of the Belarus-Ukraine intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation on 15 April.
