Overview of agricultural products imported from the EU countries in January – July 2017
According to the State Fiscal Service, over January – July 2017 comparing to the same period in 2016, import of cheese increased the most (almost by USD 7,4 million) reaching USD 22.8 million. Poland, Germany and France became the three largest suppliers of cheese to Ukraine.
Cattle, live
Supplies from the main supplier countries of the EU increased almost 11 times. Germany became the main supplier.
Meat of cattle, frozen
The total import of this product from the world increased by 7%. Lithuania and Poland are the main importing countries with their shares of 38% and 44%, respectively.
Pork
Import of this product from all over the world reduced by 4%. For today, 68 % of imported pork is accounted for EU countries and the main importers are: the Netherlands with share of 30%, Germany – 22% and Poland – 15 %.
Meat and edible by-products of poultry
Over January-July 2017 the products to the amount of USD 21,7 million were imported. Share of the main EU countries is 84 %.
Dairy products
An increase of the total import of all categories of dairy products is observed. The supplies from Germany and Poland significantly increased.
Cheese
Import of cheese increased by 48% compared with January-July 2016. Share of the EU countries in the structure of import increased as well, especially Poland boosted its supplies.
Vegetables
Import of vegetables reduced comparing to indices of the previous year but supplies from EU countries, mainly from Italy and Poland, increased.
