In the current season, Ukraine exported 21.7 mln tonnes of grains.
According to the forecast of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine, in 2010, Ukraine will harvest nearly 48 mln tonnes of grains as opposed to 46 mln tonnes in 2009, declared Sergey Melnik, the First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine, during the international conference "Grain Forum & Grain Industry – 2010".

Ukraine. Kherson seaport expects to finish building grain terminal in december
The Kherson maritime merchandise state owned port expects to complete the construction of a grain terminal with a storage capacity of 24,000 tonnes in December 2010. The port terminal would be built in two stages. The total area of the grain-handling complex would be 0.52 hectares. The cost of the project is UAH 31.3 million. The port finances the construction from it own funds.

Ukraine decreased grain share by 2.4% in the general commodity exports
In the first quarter of 2010, commodity exports from Ukraine totaled 10.33 bln USD, imports – 11.8 bln USD, which formed the growth of export indices by 24.6%, and imports – by 20.7% compared to the first quarter of 2009 respectively.

As of April 30, Ukraine decreased spring sowing areas by 7.8%
As of April 30, 2010, agricultural enterprises of all varieties in Ukraine sowed spring agricultural crops (taking into account resowing works of perished winter crop sowings) throughout the areas of 9.3 mln ha, a decrease of 7.8% compared to the indices of the same date of April in 2009, declared the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine on May 14.

Ukraine bans import of odd-toed animals from Brazil
The State Committee for Veterinary Medicine of Ukraine banned import of odd-toed animals to Ukraine from Brazil, as well as products and raw materials from them, the Committee's press service informs.
