In 2025, egg production in Ukraine amounted to 11,434 million eggs. Although this figure is 0.5% lower than in 2024 and 13% lower than the five-year average, large enterprises demonstrate stability and continue to adopt the best production practices. Companies are implementing modern management systems, production automation, and product certification, which allows them to maintain volumes even in difficult economic conditions.

Key insights regarding this industry:

  • Production structure: in 2025, the share of industrial enterprises accounts for 54% of total egg production, with a growing trend in production volumes up to 6,085 million eggs. In contrast, the share of households is 46%, and their production volumes are declining, decreasing from 5,531 million eggs in 2024 to 5,349 million in 2025. The decline in household production is mainly due to high feed costs, limited financial resources, and general economic difficulties faced by small-scale producers.
  • Export volumes and key markets: chicken egg exports demonstrated significant growth — by 77% compared to the same period in 2024, reaching 137.5 thousand tons. This became possible due to the high demand in European markets and logistical proximity. The export geography has a clear focus on stable markets: 73.3% of the products are supplied to the EU-27 countries, 12.7% to other European countries outside the EU, 8.0% to the Middle East, while the remaining supplies go to Southeast Asia (3.2%) and other regions (2.8%).
  • Export of egg products: in 2025, 7.8 thousand tons of egg products were exported, which is only 3% more than in the same period of 2024. The vast majority of these products (95.3%) are directed to EU countries.

Conclusion: overall, the Ukrainian egg industry demonstrates resilience despite significant challenges. Ukrainian producers continue to invest in product quality and compliance with international standards, supporting stability in foreign markets and ensuring reliable supplies for both export and domestic consumption.
