Minimum prices for sugar beet and sugar may rise in 2010
In the season of 2010, the minimum sugar price in Ukraine may rise from UAH 3,125 (EUR 269.66 USD 392.10) to UAH 4,250 a ton.

Oil extraction plants recommended to buy sunflower seeds for UAH 3,000
According to Vice Minister of Agrarian Policy Ivan Demchak, the Ministry has recommended processing enterprises to purchase sunflower seeds for UAH 2,900-3,000 (EUR 258.87 USD 376.41) a ton.

Grain reserve 20.9 million tons
Ukraine's agricultural enterprises (except for small-scale) dealing with the storage and processing of grain crops had 20.9 million tons grain as of December 1 (13% down on December 1, 2008), including 9.4 million tons of wheat, 4.6 million tons of barley, 4.7 million tons of corn, and 0.8 million tons of rye, the State Statistics Committee reported.

FAO examines Iran's grain production, use
In its latest report on Iran, the Food and Agricultural Organization cited a 5 million tons decrease in grain imports, 3.7 million tons of local wheat production, a stop in the growth of rice consumption, and the production of 95 percent of the meat used in the country in 2009.

EU wheat prices mostly up
Wheat prices in major western European markets were mostly higher on Monday, supported by a soyabean-led advance in US futures. Dealers said they were also closely monitoring cold weather in France although initial indications were that it appears unlikely to cause any damage to crops.

Most Ukraine winter grains in good condition
About 88 percent of Ukrainian winter grain crops, which will be harvested next summer, were in good or satisfactory condition as of December 3, UkrAgroConsult agriculture consultancy said on Tuesday. But it said a drought in July to October had weakened some crops.
