Soyuz-Victan goes bankrupt
A large Ukrainian alcohol producer, the company Soyuz-Victan, has gone bankrupt. According to the co-owner of Soyuz-Victan, Andrey Okhlopkov, the group has taken a decision to go out of business. The Ukrainian assets' bankruptcy proceedings started in November. The group will file for insolvency of its daughter company in Russia, the closed-end joint stock company Soyuz-Victan, in the Arbitration Court of the Moscow region on 22 December. The group is planning to pay off its accounts payable estimated at USD 170-200mn (EUR 140mn) after sale of its assets. The main creditors of the group are the Ukrainian divisions of OTP Bank, Sberbank, and Alfa Bank.
According to market insiders, the companies affiliated to the group's management may obtain the production facilities of Soyuz-Victan. These companies are Ukraine's Crimean Vodka Company and Russia's AlkoRuss.
