Sea ports of Russia increased grain shipment by 2.5 times
During eleven months of 2009, the cargo flow of sea ports of Russia increased by 9% compared to the same period of the previous year, to 454 mln tonnes. Dry cargoes shipment totaled 181.9 mln tonnes (up 2.6%), bulk cargoes – 272.1 mln tonnes (up 13.7%), declared the Association of sea trading ports of Russia.

Australia. CBH raises estimated returns for oat pools
CBH Group announced on Dec. 23 that the 2009-10 harvest pool for oats is up again with the estimated pool return (EPR) for Grade 1 oats increasing A$10 per tonne to A$188 per tonne. The EPRs for Wandering and Grade 2 oats are both up A$2 per tonne to A$161 per tonne and A$157 per tonne respectively.

Ukraine increased winter grains sowing areas
According to data of State committee of Statistics of Ukraine, agrarians sowed winter crops, including rapeseed, for the harvest-2010 throughout the area of 10.1 mln ha, an increase of 287.3 thsd ha, or 2.9%, compared to the index of 2008.

Ukraine: Crimea increased grain sales by 7.6%
During January-November of 2009, agricultural enterprises of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea (Ukraine) sold 655.6 thsd tonnes of grains, an increase of 7.6% compared to the same period of the previous year, declared the Main department of statistics of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

A large Ukrainian alcohol producer, the company Soyuz-Victan, has gone bankrupt. According to the co-owner of Soyuz-Victan, Andrey Okhlopkov, the group has taken a decision to go out of business.

IMF Mission to Return to Ukraine After New Year
