Sustainable Cooling in Agribusiness Supply Chains: Reducing Food Losses in Ukraine and Europe

The International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, in partnership with the Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic and the UK Government, and in cooperation with the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club Association (UCAB), invites you to the workshop "Sustainable Cooling in Agribusiness Supply Chains: Reducing Food Losses in Ukraine and Europe". The event will take place within the framework of the international exhibition AGRITECHNICA 2025.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn about advanced technologies and financial instruments aimed at improving the efficiency and competitiveness of agribusiness. During the workshop, we will examine in detail:

  • The role of sustainable cooling technologies in mitigating food losses and their economic and environmental benefits.
  • IFC’s toolkit and financial solutions to bolster the resilience of the agribusiness sector and practical advice on how to access funding.
  • The primary challenges and innovative business models for implementing sustainable solutions in Ukraine and Europe.
  • Practical examples and case studies of implementing sustainable cooling projects.

Among the speakers at the workshop are:

  • Leading experts on sustainable cooling and climate finance.
  • Representatives of Ukrainian and European agricultural associations and research centers.
  • Specialists from leading agricultural holdings that are implementing large-scale cooling systems.
  • Experts from international and Ukrainian companies that offer innovative solutions in refrigeration and post-harvest cooling.

This workshop is part of the AgriResilience initiative, led by IFC in partnership with the Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic and with the support of the UK Government, which works to strengthen sustainable and resilient food systems across Ukraine and Central and Eastern Europe. The project aims to unlock private sector investment in agribusinesses that are adapting to transformational shifts.

Participation in the online format is free. In-person participation is available for AGRITECHNICA 2025 visitors. The number of in-person spots for the workshop is limited, so we recommend registering in advance. Synchronous English-Ukrainian translation will be provided.
