Russia aims to boost ag exports through bioenergy
In Russia, with international reports of droughts and grain shortages, Deputy Agriculture Minister Alexander Petrikov this week stated at an agricultural form, “Russia could become a supplier of oilseeds, oil, biodiesel and ethanol as alternative fuel, cattle and goat meat, game and aquaculture products to the European union in the future.”

Ukraine harvests nearly 30.4 million tons of grain and leguminous crops
Ukraine as of September 8 harvested 30.38 million tons of grain and leguminous crops from an area of 12.158 million hectares, or 83% of the forecast. The average yield of grain and leguminous crops is 25 quintals per hectare, the Ukrainian Agriculture Ministry has reported.

Ukrainian Government to reject a bill and decree regarding grains export moratorium
The Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on agrarian policy issues rejected a bill “On altering the Law of Ukraine “On grains and grain market in Ukraine” (regarding the complete satisfying of the State grain demands)” and the decree “On imposition of the moratorium for grain exports from Ukraine”.

In 2010, sunflower oil export volumes from Ukraine to cover 60% of the world market
Taking into account the present tendencies on the market of grains, in 2010, the export volumes of sunflower oil from Ukraine will possibly cover 60% of the world market, at the same time, in 2009 the index totaled 54%, declared Eugene Lavrov, the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine, on August 26.
