Ukraine harvests nearly 30.4 million tons of grain and leguminous crops

Ukraine as of September 8 harvested 30.38 million tons of grain and leguminous crops from an area of 12.158 million hectares, or 83% of the forecast. The average yield of grain and leguminous crops is 25 quintals per hectare, the Ukrainian Agriculture Ministry has reported.

Farmers are continuing to thresh buckwheat. They threshed 116,800 tons from an area of 138,500 hectares (65% of the forecast), with an average yield of 8.4 quintals per hectare.

Ukraine also harvested 117,200 tons of millet from an area of 76,000 hectares, or 87% of the forecast. The average yield reached 15.4 quintals per hectare.

Farmers also threshed 1.189 million tons of corn (12%), with an average yield of 37.6 quintals per hectare, and 861,200 tons of sunflower seeds from an area of 571,000 hectares (13% of the forecast), with an average yield of 15.1 quintals per hectare.

Ukraine threshed 146,500 tons of soybeans from an area of 105,000 hectares, with an average yield being 13.9 quintals per hectare.

Farmers also harvested 565,000 tons of sugar beets from an area of 18,200 hectares (4% of the forecast).
