The 8th Edition of Ukraine’s Agricultural Export Portfolio Presented

UCAB has presented the 8th edition of Ukraine’s Agricultural Export Portfolio, prepared with the support of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine. The publication includes a detailed analysis of the export performance of Ukraine’s agro-industrial complex in 2024, as well as the key achievements of the sector.
The Agricultural Export Portfolio of Ukraine is an important tool for promoting agricultural products on the international stage and for identifying new markets. The document provides detailed information on export opportunities in areas such as grains, oilseeds and processed products, meat and dairy, vegetables, fruits, fish, and more. The study can be accessed via the link.
Despite the challenges of war, 2024 demonstrated Ukraine’s ability not only to maintain its export potential but also to move forward with modernization. “Agri-food exports reached USD 24.7 billion, accounting for almost 60% of Ukraine’s total goods exports, confirming that agriculture remains the backbone of the country’s foreign trade. At the same time, producers are expanding processing, investing in innovation, and strengthening sustainable practices. This transformation helps Ukraine remain competitive in global markets and meet the growing demand for high-quality, traceable, and climate-friendly food products,” noted Taras Kachka, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration.
The EU continues to be the main market for Ukrainian products: while in 2021 trade with the EU accounted for about 30% (USD 7.7 billion), in 2024 it grew to 52%, reaching USD 12.6 billion. “At the same time, an important trend in 2024 was the gradual recovery of exports to traditional markets. A striking example is Africa: in 2021, it accounted for 13.5% of Ukraine’s agri-food exports (USD 3.7 billion). In 2023, there was a significant drop to 7% and USD 1.6 billion, but already in 2024 Africa’s share in external supplies increased to 10.6% with USD 2.6 billion. A similar positive trend can be observed in other regions: we are gradually returning to countries where we have traditionally been present, and step by step increasing our share in global markets,” said Oleksandra Avramenko, Head of the UCAB European Integration Committee.
At the same time, restoring the operation of seaports remains key to supporting Ukrainian exports, as they are fundamental to the country’s competitiveness. Equally important are the “Solidarity Lanes,” through which a significant share of exports passes, making them critically necessary to preserve the economic stability of the agricultural sector and contributing to the further recovery of the economy and the development of Ukraine’s international trade.
“We are sincerely grateful to our European and international partners for their steadfast support and solidarity, which allowed us to maintain the continuity of food supplies at a time of real threat to global supply chains. This is more than just trade – it is a joint struggle for global food security. Thanks to this cooperation, we not only protect millions of people from hunger, but also take a confident step toward Ukraine’s full integration into the European market,” commented Oleksandra Avramenko, Chair of the UCAB Committee on European Integration.
UCAB also thanks the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine for its significant contribution and expert support, which made the preparation and development of this portfolio possible.
