Rabbit and lamb are the most desired types of niche meat
According to UCAB research, Ukrainians would like to increase the consumption of rabbit and lamb meat among other types of niche meat. 31% and 30% of respondents voted for these positions correspondingly. 24% of them chose turkey meat.
Currently, rabbit and lamb meat consumption in Ukraine is quite low - about 500 grams of meat/year per person. Low purchasing power of population and the priority consumption of traditional chicken and pork meat are the main reasons for this.
The issues of niche livestock production will be discussed at the third session of the VII International Conference "Doing Agribusiness in Ukraine: Time for Profound Changes" that will take place on December 10 in Kyiv.
