Sowing of millet is record low this year
According to the data provided by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, this year Ukrainian farmers have sown only 54 thous. hectares of millet that is twice less than seeding in 2016 and 2015, by 109 and 112 thous. hectares respectively.

Geography of the European agro-food import
According to the International Trade Center (ITC) in 2016 the agricultural import of EU-28 amounted to USD 521 billion. Germany is the main consumer of agricultural products with its share of 17.1% in terms of the total EU agricultural import or USD 89.2 billion. The leading consumers of agricultural products in Europe also include the UK (with its share of 11.7%), France - 11% and the Netherlands 10.6%. In total, these four countries are purchasing 50.4% of the whole agricultural products imported by the EU constituting USD 263.1 billion.

Share of Asian region in agriculture sector increased to 48%
Dynamics of export of the Ukrainian agricultural products within recent years displays a significant revival of trade between Ukraine and countries of Asia. Over the past 5 years, revenues from export of the Ukrainian agricultural products to Asia increased from USD 5.7 billion in 2012 to USD 7.4 billion in 2016, while the share of the Asian region in terms of structure of agricultural export from Ukraine increased from 32.1% to 48.2% in 2016.

Israel is a promising market for the Ukrainian sweets
Over the past 5 years, trade of Ukraine with Israel has declined. Thus, export to Israel reduced by 43% or USD 217.4 million. In 2016 the total value of supplies of agricultural products to Israel amounted to USD 292.8 million while in 2012 the supplies volume was USD 510.2 million. Import of agricultural products from specified country decreased comparing 2012 by 60% as well. Despite the negative tendency, trade balance remains positive - export exceeds import by USD 284.5 million (as of 2016).
